Glad to hear you're inspired! :) Bidding on several jobs can seem like a lot of labor and it's not practical to deliver completed solutions to them all. Maybe pick just one or two to start with.

Plus, everything is always up in the air. One client that I delivered a final solution to never got back to me. Nothing at all. His site is still broken. I'm assuming he wasn't really interested in actaully fixing it.

Another potential client paid a cheaper consultant. I bid $100 and someone else bid $50. The other consultant botched the job and wouldn't give the money back. The client wanted to give me the work but didn't want to be out $150.

Oh well.

Good luck! :)

Great post Matt! I love the idea of delivering a working solution with your bid. I have searched guru.com and have gone through the process of submitting a bid a couple times, but never got any response. It seemed like too much work to bid lots of jobs on the hope of getting just one that paid $200. After reading this I'm inspired to go try again. Thanks!
